Academic Writeshop

An Academic Writeshop is a focused workshop where participants learn and collaboratively develop writing materials, such as a research paper or book chapter. The process involves active learning of topics related to writing strategies or selecting a peer-reviewed journal, and intensive drafting, peer review, and revision sessions to refine the content within a set timeframe.

From September to November 2024, LSIL Local Capacity Development Crosscutting Theme conducted academic writeshops in Ethiopia, Nepal, and Rwanda. This page provides resources and materials used during the writeshop (aka the Guide and PowerPoint presentations).

Where to start?

The content presented here is designed for hosting a two-day academic writeshop.

A guide has been prepared to support facilitating the academic writeshop process. The Guide is in Microsoft Word, allowing users to amend the guide to their program needs and context after download.

A series of PowerPoint presentations are also available for download. As the guide, the presentations are in Microsoft PowerPoint to allow amending content or adding additional information.

All materials are in English.
