Policy Brief Writeshop

A Policy Brief Writeshop is a workshop designed to enable participants from LSIL partner countries to acquire and apply the skills to produce one (or more if desired) policy brief(s) stemming from their LSIL-funded research. Participants will be able to write effective policy briefs that communicate interesting project findings, lessons, and policy implications, and engage stakeholders in their actualization.

In 2024, the LSIL Enabling Environment and Local Capacity Development Crosscutting Themes conducted policy brief writeshops in Ethiopia, Nepal, and Rwanda. This page provides the resources and materials used during those writeshops.

Where to start?

The writeshop is a multi-step process that can take 3 to 6 months, depending on the projects’ respective pace, and consists of in-person and virtual sessions.

A Facilitation Guide has been prepared to support its facilitation. The guide can be amended through Microsoft Word to suit each project's needs and contexts.

A PowerPoint presentation for the in-person writeshop is also available for download and can be modified through Microsoft PowerPoint.

All materials are in English.
